Committee for Research on Sexuality, Women and Gender (SWaG)Mission Statement: The Committee for Research on Sexuality, Women, and Gender (SWaG) fosters collaborative, interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach initiatives on women, gender, and sexuality. We seek broad participation and deep diversity. The mission is to a) advance the scholarship of faculty, staff, and graduate students; b) facilitate the creation of interdisciplinary communities across the campus, in a variety of forms; c) generate reading, research, and mentoring groups; d) develop, coordinate, and generate community outreach projects; and e) strengthen links and ties between WGST department and affiliate faculty, staff and students. Thus, the overarching mission of the SWaG is to build bridges between diverse university and WGST communities. SWaG supports the work of and collaborates with the Department of Women's and Gender Studies. In order to accomplish these goals, the Committee will hold three types of events:
Membership: All Women's and Gender Studies Department and Affiliate Faculty, Staff, and Students are members of SWaG. |
