Alumnae Anniversary Award
Alumnae Anniversary Award
The Women's and Gender Studies Department administers the Alumnae Anniversary Fund for the Recognition of Faculty Women. This fund was created in 1970 to support faculty women on the Columbia campus who are notable for their teaching excellence and/or other contributions to the education of women. An award is given annually to an outstanding faculty member at the University of Missouri. The fund and annual awards were conceived to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the admittance of women to the University.
The call for nominations is typically sent out across our social media pages as well as via our department listservs. Nominations are accepted for the Alumnae Anniversary Award annually, any time between December 1st and February 15th. Award recipients will be notified no later than the 15th of February and recognized at a banquet in March.
The 2025 Nomination Window will open on December 1st, 2024.
Electronic nomination packets should be submitted to the departmental resource account (wgst@missouri.edu). Please submit the packet as one PDF with the subject heading of (Last Name) AA Nomination (Year).
A nomination packet should include:
- Name and contact information of the nominee
- Name and contact information for all nominators
- At least two but no more than four letters of nomination that describe why the faculty member is deserving of the award. At least one nomination letter must be from a current MU student or recent alum.
